A warm welcome awaits you at this former lead miner's smallholding.
Surrounded by farmland above the river Swale, Park End is a special place from which guests can explore Swaledale or just relax and enjoy the stunning views.
Park End is almost exactly halfway between the east and west coasts and is ideally situated to explore this historically significant part of England and enjoy the outstanding beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Park End was a lead miner's smallholding and the house dates from the mid-18th Century. Located in the hamlet of Kearton, between the villages of Reeth and Low Row, on the south-facing valley side, 960 feet above the River Swale, it enjoys outstanding uninterrupted views of Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Today the original hay barn and byre at either end have been combined with the cottage making a single elegantly converted and restored luxury home retaining many of the original features. The dining room with its welcoming open fireplace and breakfast room make enjoyable places to start the day and the lounge offers a comfortable place to sit and relax in the evening.
Surrounded by meadows and pastures, Park End is a beautifully quiet and secluded location only 2½ miles from the busy village of Reeth with its shops, restaurants, Inns and attractions. The famous market towns of Richmond and Leyburn are only 30 minutes drive away. A short journey across the grouse moor behind Park End to Arkengarthdale 3 miles away, takes you through the "Water Splash" to the pretty village of Langthwaite, both immortalised in the television series "All Creatures Great and Small".
